Houston SBS Volleyball Club for the 2026-2027 Club Season tryouts. 

What to Expect

Depending on the age group your daughter is trying out for, most will follow the structure below:

• Evaluation

SBS coaches will assess a player’s skills, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, and digging, through various drills and scrimmages. 

• Drills:

SBS coaches will include specific drills designed to evaluate different aspects of a player’s skill. 

• Scrimmages:

We will have players participating in scrimmage to see how they perform in a game situation.

• Coach’s Evaluation:

SBS coaches will be observing and taking notes on each player’s performance throughout the tryouts. 

• Offers:

SBS Volleyball Club will make an offer to players during the tryouts, while others may wait until after all tryouts are complete to make their decisions. 

• Early or Late Tryouts:

Early or late tryout will be offered to players who cannot make to the dates listed below.

USAV AGE GROUP DEFINITIONS

• 12’s: born on or after July 1, 2014 – Going into the 6^th Grade
• 13’s: born on or after July 1, 2013 – Going into the 7^th Grade
• 14’s: born on or after July 1, 2012 – Going into the 8^th Grade
• 15’s: born on or after July 1, 2011 – Going into the 9^th Grade
